"Leave Nothing But Prints"
36 x 48 inches
This artwork shows a mother grizzly moving through high meadow grass with her cub clinging to her back, a second cub pausing just ahead. The landscape rises with them — grass to timber to snow-capped peaks — the whole mountain contained in the shape of their crossing. The landscape is held inside the scene itself. The meadow becomes the forest, becomes the mountain. It’s how it feels up there, like you’re inside the mountain, not just looking at it.
Thousands of hand-cut lines, no digital process.
